Rachel Deacy

I am a classical soprano based in Greenwich, London, with over 20 years of singing experience. My training spans Musical Theatre, Jazz, Pop, Classical, and Opera, allowing me to bring a versatile and well-rounded approach to my teaching. I have previously taught at the Pauline Quirke Academy, Make Believe, and the International Academy of Musical Theatre (IAMT). I specialise in one-to-one tuition and teach students across the UK and internationally, including in France and Italy.

I hold both a BMus and an MMus in Classical Singing Performance from Trinity Laban Conservatoire of Music and Dance, where I studied under the guidance of Sarah Pring. As a performer, I have appeared at prestigious venues including the Royal Albert Hall and Her Majesty’s Theatre, performing roles such as Maria in The Sound of Music, Maria in Donizetti's Maria Stuarda, and Nella in Puccini’s Gianni Schicchi.

My students have achieved wonderful success in both exams and auditions, with many going on to study at leading institutions including Chetham’s School of Music, Junior Trinity Laban, and the Royal Welsh College of Music. The majority of my students achieve Distinctions in their examinations.

My lessons are tailored to each student’s individual level, goals, and interests. Together, we explore vocal techniques including breath control, diaphragmatic support, tension release, vocal placement, and performance skills, using a combination of classical and contemporary training methods. I am a passionate and supportive teacher, dedicated to helping every student build confidence, develop strong technique, and achieve their full potential.
